U12 Girls Gold Team Claims Championship of Classic Bracket at AAU Nationals in Rochester, Minnesota!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Fairfax Stars U12 Girls Gold team as they won their 8th consecutive game to claim the championship of the Classic Bracket at the 2008 12 & Under Girls AAU Division I National Championship tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.

After falling into the loser's bracket on Monday night, meaning one more loss and their tournament experience would be over, the Stars reeled off wins on Tuesday ( 2 ), Wednesday ( 2 ), and Thursday ( 3 ), and then defeated the Michigan Shock, 63 - 55, to claim the Classic Bracket championship, and finishing 9 - 4 for the week.

After a slow start in the tournament, congrats on the determination and tenacity to get on a roll and finish off the week with a championship! GO STARS!

The Fairfax Stars AAU basketball program includes teams for girls and boys from ages 7 – 18. Each season teams are selected based on an open tryout, therefore all potential candidates are invited. The foundation of the program is a commitment to teaching fundamental basketball skill development and knowledge of the game. With a talented, experienced, and dedicated roster of volunteer coaches, the Fairfax Stars will enhance your basketball experience and love for the game in an environment of positive reinforcement and fun.
