Former Long-Time Fairfax Star Grace Mashore Graduates from Stanford With Degree in American Studies
Recently I came across a story about a former Fairfax Stars player that I had not seen before, but wanted to share because it says so much about the heart, determination, conviction, and character that embodies the student - athlete.
Grace Mashore played her AAU / Travel career with the Fairfax Stars, becoming a standout player and leader on the court. In her final travel season during the summer of 2007, she played for now-Georgetown University Head Coach and with a group of teammates that all went on to Division I college basketball careers. Grace earned a scholarship to continue her education and play college basketball at Stanford University.
She had become a decorated player at the National Cathedral School, playing in the Independent School League, earning All Met recognition among her honors and awards.
ESPNW wrote about Grace and the article tells the story of a young student -athlete that should motivate us all and makes us proud. Please read the full article...
