Natalie Butler Verbally Commits to Play College Basketball for Georgetown University

Congratulations to Fairfax Star and Lake Braddock Secondary School rising senior Natalie Butler as she announced on Saturday that she has verbally committed to continue her education and play college basketball for Georgetown University.

The 6' 4" Center / Forward continues to demonstrate significant improvement and had an outstanding 2012 summer travel season playing for the Fairfax Stars U16 Girls Nike Elite Premier Showcase team.

During her high school career, she has received numerous honors and awards, including 1st Team All Patriot District; 2nd Team All Northern Region; and Honorable Mention All Met following her junior season at Lake Braddock.

Natalie's offensive versatility continues to grow as she has improved her intermediate jump shot and her post game in the paint.  She is a prolific shot blocker and tenacious rebounder.  Natalie is one of the hardest working members of her team and a great teammate.

Natalie also excels in the classroom as she carries a 3.8 GPA, always striving for excellence, and epitomizing the true student - athlete.

Georgetown plays in the Big East Conference, one of the top conferences in the country, and has consistently been a top 20 nationally ranked program for several years.

Congratulations to Natalie and her family on this exciting milestone in her career as a student - athlete.

The Fairfax Stars AAU basketball program includes teams for girls and boys from ages 7 – 18. Each season teams are selected based on an open tryout, therefore all potential candidates are invited. The foundation of the program is a commitment to teaching fundamental basketball skill development and knowledge of the game. With a talented, experienced, and dedicated roster of volunteer coaches, the Fairfax Stars will enhance your basketball experience and love for the game in an environment of positive reinforcement and fun.
